Buenos Aires is a fabulous place and one of our favourite cities which we have visited so far. We aren’t usually ‘city people’, quite the opposite, we much prefer to stick to nature and avoid the hustle and bustle of busy cities. However, Buenos Aires was different. The architecture and culture was very interesting and there are dancers, artists and performers on many streets. The cafes, restaurants and shops are all so unique, it is actually a joy to walk around and explore them all. There is so much to do in Buenos Aires and so much life there.
While in Buenos Aires, we stayed in Circus Hotel and Hostel. We would definitely recommend this accommodation. It was very clean, comfortable, staff were very helpful and it has a heated pool and nice seating area around the pool.
We went to the Sunday markets in San Telmo, where there were so many beautiful arts and crafts on sale. We wished we had been able to buy some souvenirs but we really didn’t have much room in our backpacks.
We also went to see a football match at the famous La Bombonera, home of the Argentinian giants of football, Boca Juniors. We watched Boca beat Gimnasia La Plata 4-0.
On our final day, we went to the Argentinian Polo championship. We had a fabulous day in the sun and watched a couple of games from the championship. ESPN were there interviewing the crowds and at the end of the polo, we snuck into a hospitality tent where we had free drinks and canapes. We also had the opportunity at the very end to meet some of the polo players and to get a quick photo.
