Climbing Kilimanjaro – Days 1-3

Day 1: Londorossi Gate (2360m) – Mti Mkubwa Camp (2810m)
Your day starts early with a breakfast at the hotel, followed by a
briefing by your head guide and a roughly 2-hour drive from the hotel to the gate (if you’re staying in Arusha). At Londorossi Park Gate (2100m) the guides and porters prepare
and pack the supplies and your equipment. It is here you will also complete your registration. A short drive to Lemosho gate and you’re off, trekking through the rainforest until you reach Mt Mkubwa Camp (2810m).

Day 2: Mt Mkubwa camp (2810m) – Shira 2 camp (3505m)
You depart from Mt mkubwa to the second camp through the heath and Moorland zone, following the shira ridge you enter a vast high attitude desert plateau where the first view of Mount kilimanjaro unfolds on the horizon.

Day 3: Shira camp 2 (3505m) – Moir Camp(4160m)
You leave from Shira heading to Moir camp. The route now turns east into a semi desert and rocky landscape
surrounding the Lava Tower.  Moir camp is nestled near enormous beds of volcanic rock and surrounded by rocky hills and cliffs.
-Walking Distance: 9km, 6-8hrs
