The wildlife which calls the Danum Valley home is so diverse and plentiful you will go out each time and always see something new.
You can actually spot all 10 of Borneo’s primates in the valley. We were lucky enough to see Orangutans, Bornean gibbon, silver langur, the maroon langur and it’s morph as well as both the long and short-tailed macaque.
For the very fortunate there is also chance to catch a glimpse of the rare Bornean pygmy elephant, clouded leopard, Sumatran rhino, mouse deer and Malay sun bear.
But if you think this is just a place for mammal watching you’d be very wrong. As well as being some of the most beautiful forest in the world the bird, amphibian and insect life is truly spectacular.
In just 3 days we saw monitor lizards, multiple frog species, owls, eagles, hornbills, lizards, tarantulas, preying mantis, flying squirrels, pygmy squirrels… I could go in but I think you get the idea.
The area is a nature and wildlife lovers paradise and is our favourite place in Borneo.
