With a 98% identical genetic makeup to humans, the chimpanzee is our closest living relative. These fascinating animals are a joy to watch and viewing them in the wild should be part of any wildlife lover’s bucket list. Chimps are highly social animals and can live in groups of up to 100. A viewing experience will often allow you time to see them eat, groom & socialise. While chimps do feed on the ground they spend most of their time high in the trees.
We visited the chimps in Kibale Forest National Park, which is situated in South Western Uganda near the town of Fort Portal. Travelling with Lake Basin Tours & Travel who were excellent and created a custom itinerary to suit our interests perfectly.
